Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic has an opportunity for a Barn Technician at our practice in Saginaw, Michigan. We are looking for someone who is customer service focused, team-oriented, self-motivated, energetic with great communication skills, and a strong work ethic. Experience is a plus, but if you have the passion, we have the people to help teach you and develop your skills. Our industry leading onboarding process offers not only hands-on mentorship, but an interactive online training platform, as well for easy access to resources as you learn.

We are a full service 100% equine veterinary practice. Services include Sports Medicine, Surgery, Reproduction, and Farm Services. Inside our state-of-the-art clinic, we use the latest technology and techniques to care for clients’ horses. We are located just outside of Freeland, MI. Our area has a small-town feel, with the convenience of three cities nearby. There is always something to do or see. As a bonus, if you like to travel, MBS International Airport is right around the corner.

Team Member Responsibilities

  • Cleaning stalls
  • Feeding horses
  • Moving horses throughout the facility
  • Restraining patients
  • Working alternate shifts, holidays and weekends

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Excellent horse-handling skills
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and positive
  • Strong work ethic
  • Able to work independently
  • Can handle multiple tasks and changing work assignments
  • Can carry up to 50 pounds for a short distance
  • Ability to complete very physical work that may require walking, sitting, lifting, bending, climbing, crouching, etc.
  • Occasionally driving company vehicles
  • Operating farm equipment
  • Available on weekends
  • Working knowledge of equine behavior (i.e. horse sense)
  • Working knowledge of terms used in an equine practice

  • Seasonal and Part Time positions available
