Most of the mares at our clinic are bred using artificial insemination after a series of reproductive ultrasounds. We offer artificial insemination with fresh cooled semen, deep horn uterine insemination with frozen semen, and embryo transfer. The treatment program utilized is arrived after an informed discussion between the mare owner and our veterinarians, leading to the best outcome possible.

Embryo Transfer
Embryo transfer allows a mare owner to obtain that mare’s genetics without having her have to carry the foal to term.
Embryo Vitrification
Equine embryos can be frozen using a special process called vitrification that allows them to survive the freezing and thawing process.
Foaling
Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic has facilities for foaling out pregnant mares under the supervision of our trained technical staff. The mares are monitored via closed circuit cameras as well as individualized Foalert systems.
Mares
Each mare is managed individually in terms of reproductive care, nutrition, turnout, and medical needs. Happy mares are fertile mares.
Stallions
Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic has the facilities to train, collect, and freeze semen for stallions of all sizes. We are equipped to inseminate mares on site, ship semen via Fedex or airline, and store frozen semen.
