Cheryl Heritier

Hospital Manager Cheryl Heritier is a lifetime horse owner who brings a practical, common sense approach to you and your horse's appointment. She has one of the prettiest smiles you will ever see and yet is not afraid to straighten the doctors up if they get out of hand. Cheryl is a wife, mother of three and a grandmother to Brady and Chase. She enjoys trail riding and camping, as well as the company of her trusty dog, Rocky.

What do you do at SVEC?

I am now Hospital Manager, overseeing SVEC and GameTime staff and any operational details at the clinic or on the road with GameTime.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of this job is always, always the people I work with and the clients we work for.

What has been your favorite patient "case" at SVEC?

We get so attached to some of these horses that stay with us, but my favorite horse is an Arabian mare. She acts like she doesn't like anyone, but she likes me. :) I think it's the bags of treats I buy to win her love.

What has been your most difficult "case" at SVEC?

We had a mare here not too long ago who was injured in an accidental fall. She was so sweet. In the end, she had to be euthanized.

What are your greatest skills?

I believe that my greatest skill is connecting to people. I could never work alone.

How do those skills benefit horses and their owners?

I love horses and the owners attached to them. They trust me. I have made lifelong friends working in this field, from Michigan to Texas to Canada. It really is a great way to spend my time.
