Kaylee Rodriguez

Barn technician, Kaylee Rodriguez, has a life goal of becoming a vet. Currently Kaylee attends Saginaw Valley State University, majoring in biology. She has been riding horses for 15 years now and is very active in her county fair and is on SVSU’s equine team.

I do many different jobs throughout SVEC for the health and wellness of our patients. For horses that stay and make sure they have clean stalls, fresh hay and water, and take them outside for exercise. I also assist the techs and doctors, and make sure the clinic is always sparkling.

My favorite part of my job is having the opportunity to learn and grow as a person in an environment I love. I have been around horses my entire life and spending my days with them is my dream job.

My favorite patient cases involve the foaling mares. These mares are with us for a long time and I love getting to know all of them personally.

One of the most difficult cases for me was experiencing a loss. We hurt right along with the family members, and hope they understand that we go through it with them. It’s heartfelt through the entire clinic.

I pride myself in being able to get everything done in a timely manner. My work ethic is to always being on top of things and be efficient at everything I do.
