Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy

pulse2-secondarySaginaw Valley Equine Clinic offers Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy for a wide range of ailments that affect your horse. PEMF Therapy is a great tool in the treatment of your horse's pain, including soreness in the back, arthritis, decreased range of motion, poor circulation, and ligament, tendon, muscle or bone injuries. PEMF Therapy is widely used to condition race horses at race tracks around the world. PEMF Therapy is very effective for:

  • Regenerating damaged and diseased tissue, and repairing torn tendons and fractured bones.
  • Enhancing the synthesis of protein in the cells, allowing the body to take advantage of all the protein available.
  • Improving circulation by opening and dilating arteries and capillaries. This also reduces edema (swelling).
  • Increasing the cellular level of oxygen absorption. Studies have shown that oxygen partial pressure can be increased by 200%. This reduces pain associated with lack of sufficient oxygen. Also, insufficient oxygen in the cells causes lactic acid buildup under strenuous exercise.
  • Relieving deep muscle soreness.
