Cassaday Shea

Cassaday Shea is a recent graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. She lives in Beaverton with her fiance, Taran. She will be getting married on July 30 in her hometown of Beaverton. Together, they have one dog, Oakley, a black lab. Cassaday is the oldest of 4 girls and her parents are Sheriff Mike and Kim Shea of Beaverton.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy being outside while playing with my dog or rifle hunting. We enjoy spending time with family while camping and riding Jeeps/Rangers. Every chance we get, we attend sporting events for our siblings. We love listening to music and sitting around a bonfire with family and friends as much as possible.

How do you get interested in horses?

When I started taking horse riding lessons in 3rd grade, I immediately fell in love with these animals. Santa brought me my first horse in 6th grade and I had her for 7 years. I rode with Beaverton's Middle and High School equestrian teams, the Gladwin County 4H, and in small shows in the Mid Michigan area. I had to sell my horse in 2013 when I moved away for college, so I don't currently ride. However, I would love to start riding for fun again very soon and hopefully get my own horse once again. I will always have a special spot in my heart for horses. They have taught me many life lessons.

What is your role?

I am a Receptionist/Scheduler here at SVEC

What is your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part of the job is working with the horses and the wonderful team here at SVEC. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and creating lifelong friendships.

What are your greatest skills and how do they benefit horses and their owners?

My greatest skills include being very personable and easygoing. Also, I am very enthusiastic and willing to learn new things. I enjoy interacting with people on a daily basis and working together to meet common goals. I think this will benefit the horses and their owners because I will be interested in what is going on with the horse while also providing excellent customer service to the owners.
