SVEC's Newest Surgeon Experienced in Orthopedic Surgery

veterinarian ejk1Please join the Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic staff as we welcome our newest surgeon, Dr. Ellen Krueger, DVM, DACVS-LA. At the same time, we're saying farewell to Dr. Megan Williams, DVM, DACVS-LA, who has accepted a tenured professor position at Oklahoma State University.

Moving to Oklahoma puts Dr. Williams, along with her twin son and daughter, closer to her family. We wish Dr. Williams well in her new position.

Dr. Krueger, who is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgery, is originally from Bowling Green, Ohio. She earned Bachelor's degrees from Georgetown University and Colorado State University before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

Dr. Krueger completed an equine internship at the Littleton Large Animal Clinic in Colorado and conducted equine orthopedic research at Cornell University in New York state. She also held a three-year residency at the Ontario Veterinary College, where she completed a research project on osteoarthritis in the equine fetlock joint. After an additional year of surgical experience at the Ontario Veterinary College, she worked at equine private practices in Virginia and Alberta, Canada.

Throughout her career, Dr. Krueger has been involved in orthopedic research, focusing on articular cartilage. She enjoys the variety of general practice as well as orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.

In her free time, Ellen enjoys cooking and hiking with her husband, Don, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
